WHAT IS CROWDFUNDING AND WHY DO WE DO IT?
Crowdfunding is a “social way” of funding a project. By donating, people who are interested in the cause (stopping human trafficking) and (or) making the film, participate actively in solving a problem. With the economic situation the world is facing today, we believe this is the future – people donating and funding what they personally find interesting and important.
WHO WE ARE:
We, Allan (Danish Screenwriter and Director) and Rasa (Lithuanian Producer), are the driving forces behind the Escaping Sunshine. We started working on this film back in 2011, just after the incident hit the front pages in Denmark. Today we simply cannot let go of the story, especially because of the importance of the topic. Behind us we have a big, very experienced, international team having worked on everything from Hollywood blockbusters to award winning creative documentaries.
The Lithuanian production company behind the film is called ERA FILM. Very early in the project our Danish Script Consultant, Valeria Richter, joined us. Our Danish co-producer is the Danish film production company, Bullitt Film. The Danish Police is an invaluable help for us when researching the story and in Lithuania the organization “Caritas” (the anti-human trafficking department), is opening all needed door to meet victims and convicted pimps who are still sitting in jail.
SO, WILL IT BE A GOOD FILM?
No, it will be a great film! The fact that we already won prices and got international support should speak for itself. But MORE IMPORTANTLY – otherwise we wouldn’t already have invested the last two years of our lives! A good film starts with a good script – which we already have! We have even tested the script during public script readings. Together with 4 actors we invited 15 youngsters, age of 16 to 21, and read the script aloud for them - they really liked it. WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE DONATIONS?
If we reach the 15.000 Euros we will shoot the teaser for the film! All the money will be spend on transporting the whole cast and crew, light buses, technical equipment etc. (much of which we get for a friendly price) through all the locations in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Germany and Denmark to film the teaser.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
First of all you help raising awareness on a HUGE problem! – Human trafficking! Next to helping making the world a better place, you get the nice perks (gifts) we have put together for you. Everything from: the most beautifully designed reflectors to keep you safe in the dark (so elegant you can actually wear them on a suit!), an acting part in the teaser, signed CD’s and private concerts by the British band Red Box who are collaborating on the music for the film.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE MONEY ISN’T RAISED ON TIME?
This is an “All or Nothing Campaign” if we do not raise the 15.000 Euros, your donation stays with YOU! – we won’t get anything! ... and sadly, you also won't get your perks ...
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE GO OVER THE BUDGET?
If we raise above our target we will use all money to broaden our social awareness campaign, together with Caritas, against human trafficking.
WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE ANTI HUMAN TRAFFICKING CAMPAIGN?
When talking to youth it is clear that previous anti human trafficking campaigns have missed their goal. Today people still believe that one should “watch out for the stranger” when in fact it is always some one close to you – a friend or a family member – who betrayals and sells you.
HOW AND WHEN WILL YOU RECEIVE THE PERKS / GIFTS?
We will start sending your perks out just after the finishing of the campaign. But please have patience as lots of paperwork has to be taken care of. We will contact you! / We would love to have your PICTURE, next to your name, on our web page - if you’d like to be up there together with us please send it to / We will organize two PRIVATE CAMPAIGN PARTIES: One in Vilnius and one in Copenhagen. We will let you know good time in advance when and where it will be held. Mr Simon Toulson-Clark (the lead singer of Red Box) has promised to join us and play a tune. The VIP upgrade means that we will reserve good places for you. / ACTING in the teaser will take place in or around Vilnius or Copenhagen. We will let you know in good time but since MANY people are working – don’t be late! / The COZY DRINK we’ll figure out between us. Should be either in Vilnius or Copenhagen when it will suit all of us. / Just as we did with a group of youngsters to test the script, we offer you a PRIVATE SCRIPT READING in Vilnius or Copenhagen – it’s very intense, almost like a theatre play, and is an exciting experience for a group of friends or as an event for your company.
